We bring art back into the lives of students in New York City schools— by bringing more original art into homes.
Budget cuts have left classrooms without the basic tools for arts education. As artists who have experienced first-hand the positive effects of art, we want to change this. The Creative Cycle sells artists' donated artwork, and uses the revenue to purchase art supplies for the classrooms that need them.
Art allows students from different backgrounds—especially those who are isolated by language barriers—to express themselves freely, build confidence, and develop critical thinking, innovation, and communication skills. Students who are more involved with the arts perform better in all subjects, and are more motivated to learn.
